Tom Cosm is a producer from New Zealand who has gained a reputation as a trainer for Ableton Live electronica equipment. This alone indicates that his knowledge of music-making far surpasses the average DJ. With a fluidity to his sound, he is able to guide his audience through a streaming set that winds the party up, keeps them there and allows a smooth, easy wind down to end the night.
This genre-less composer is capable of mixing beats for any occassion. He swings between, techno, house, electro, psy dub, glitch and minimal to create an ever spiraling cascade of playful beats. As part of a modern look on music, he doesn’t sell his tracks or mixes, but posts them for free online as part of a campaign for exposure. Even when he teaches or works private events, he holds a hippie reputation for accepting donations over strict payment plans. This chill energy he puts off makes him seem like the type of guy who would be happy to hand out advice in the field he loves the most. Passion at this point becomes evident making his appeal soar.
Tonight’s event is hosted by Triptych who put on last Saturday’s epic show at Spin (featuring Govinda). Opening will be talented members of the Triptych clan including Manny Faces, Latsonomy and Zevo.
See Tom Cosm live at Kava Lounge tonight!
